What happen when Hydrogen Peroxide react with Blood.

Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) is usually use as an antiseptic in cut and wound but (H2O2) is oxidizing agent. It is easily available in medical stores, but they are 3% solution of (H2O2) that is 97% water + 3% (H2O2).

On the other hand blood made up of protein and contain an enzyme called Catalase which is highly reactive, it is extremely efficient up to 200,000 reactions per second.

When this Catalase enzyme react with hydrogen peroxide it releases oxygen and Hydrogen gas with bubbles as a result foam is formed.

Whenever it cut or wound Hydrogen Peroxide is used as antiseptic, during its use we also see foam because this contain lots of catalase enzyme.
